Last Wednesday, the 25th, FGV Energia received the CEO of Pré-Sal Petróleo S.A. (PPSA), Oswaldo Pedrosa, for another edition of the lectures program Energy in Focus. The project proposal is to gather, on a monthly basis, professionals from the power sector to discuss political, economic and technological challenges to be overcome to develop this area in the country. In this month’s series, Pedrosa presented the perspectives for pre-salt exploration and development for almost 100 people, including business owners from the sector, academics, as well as FGV Energia’s own team of researchers.

In approximately over two hours of presentation, he explained some of the country’s pre-salt exploration milestones and achievements; showed production expectations; made a brief analysis of the current situation; and, lastly, emphasized the sector’s industrial development opportunities. Pedrosa also reinforced the main goals of PPSA’s creation: “manage the production sharing contract by representing the Union’s interests; represent the Union in production unification agreements; and manage the trade of the oil exceeding parcel belonging to the Union,” in his own words.
