Brazilian Power Industry: Current Situation and Perspectives

On April 25, 2014, AMCHAM RIO - American Chamber of Commerce of Rio de Janeiro promoted an important debate on “Brazil’s Power Industry New Model”. FGV Energia, along with other large companies as Energisa Comercializadora, LATAN, ABRADEE and ANEEL have discussed topics as the high power cost, one of the main components of the so-called “Cost-Brazil”, the price of power for the end consumer and the possibility of rationing in the country. Mr. Ruderico Pimentel – Consultant at FGV Energia, Alessandra Amaral - Executive Director at Energia Trader, Maurício Fernandes – Corporate Affairs Director at Guardian Brasil, Ricardo Brandão – Attorney General of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL), Roberto D'Araújo - Director of Ilumina Institute (Institute of Strategic Development for the Power Industry) delivered lectures in the event.
