FGV Energia and Furnas discuss positive agenda for the power industry in Brazil
On May 12, FGV Energia received Furnas President, Flávio Decat, for a meeting to strengthen the relationship between both institutions and discuss the outlook of the power industry in Brazil.
The President of FGV, professor Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal; the engineer, executive secretary of Science and Technology from 1995 to 1998 and member of FGV Board of Directors, Lindolpho Dias; the director of FGV Energia, Carlos Otávio Quintella, and Luiz Roberto Bezerra, from FGV Energia attended this meeting.
At the time, the preparation of a positive actions agenda to improve the Brazilian energy matrix was addressed.

Furnas is a mixed capital corporation - subsidiary of Eletrobrás and linked to the Ministry for Mines and Energy - dedicated to generate and transmit power in Brazil.
Created in 1950, Furnas’ mission was to solve the energy crisis that threatened the country. Furnas Plant was the first large hydroelectric plant in Brazil, with capacity for 1,216 MW, located in Rio Grande, Minas Gerais, in 1958.
In 1963, the company Furnas Electricity Center started to actively operate in Passos (State of Minas Gerais) through Federal Decree no. 41.066. Today, it is headquartered in Rio de Janeiro and has ventures in the Federal District and the States of Minas Gerais, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Espírito Santo, Tocantins, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Rondônia, São Paulo, Rio Grande do Norte and Ceará.
