FGV Energia stood out in the largest Brazilian power sector event
FGV Energia participated in the 23rd National Seminar on Electric Power Production and Transmission (23rd SNPTEE). The largest Brazilian power sector’s event, promoted by Itaipu Binacional, was held in Foz do Iguaçu in Paraná from October 18 to 21, and counted on the presence of over 1,700 people registered from 295 organizations. The partnership agreement was signed during a meeting on October 19, attended by Itaipu Director General Jorge Samek, the executive technical director Airton Dipp, and the CFO Margaret Groff. In addition to studies on the review of Brazil and Paraguay Treaty, of 1973, FGV Energia representatives were invited to participate in the “International Conference: Potentialities, Opportunities and Challenges of the Electrical Integration in South America,” closed event promoted by Itaipu Binacional with UFRJ, which will be held on November 25, 26 and 27.
During the seminar, FGV Energia’s stand was visited by hundreds of people, who were able to learn course modalities offered by FGV In Company targeted to employees from companies of Eletrobrás system (Cepel, Chesf, Eletrosul, Eletronorte, Itaipu and Furnas). These courses have a specific content for professionals acting in the power sector. Currently, FGV partnership with Eletrobrás Corporate University (Unise) has six classes in the cities of Rio de Janeiro, Brasília and Recife.
Participation in the 23rd SNPTEE also enabled a partnership agreement between FGV Energia and Santo Antônio Energia (SAESA). Three researchers from FGV will visit the Power Plant located seven kilometers from Porto Velho (Rondônia) in order to develop a technical study about the flow replacement system.
The 23rd event edition was considered the biggest one ever held by the organization. The seminar was divided into 16 study groups totaling 576 technical works on the different areas of the power sector. SNPTEE serves as a basis to disseminate new technologies, disclose successful experiences, discuss problems faced by the sector, in addition to contribute to the relationship of government, private companies technicians, suppliers, universities and research centers.
