FGV Energia launches Biofuels booklet

At the end of 2016, MME launched the RenovaBio program to stimulate the production of biofuels in the country, which presents proposals for structural changes widely discussed with industry players. Considering the opportunities created by the commitments made in the Paris Agreement and by the new regulation proposed by RenovaBio and their implications in the production of biofuels in Brazil, FGV Energia launches the Biofuels Booklet, taking to Brazilian society this important discussion about renewable fuels. To this end, FGV Energia has talked with more than 50 agents in the sector (government representatives, business associations, companies, consultancies, academia and others), of which the majority considers that the goals assumed are feasible and that the RenovaBio program will contribute to the resumption investments.

This publication of FGV Energia brings, in good time, an analysis of the biofuels scenario in Brazil, as well as the main issues of the sector, in order to provide information to develop a clear vision, collaborating with the identification of actions that maximize the national potential. The work was structured under the following blocks of analysis: the RenovaBio proposal; ethanol and biodiesel; new biofuels; the main obstacles and prospects for the resumption of investments.

The launch of the Biofuels Booklet will take place on September 15th in the auditorium on the 12th floor, at 2:00 pm, at the FGV headquarters.
