Launching of the 3rd Edition of the Book “Brazil’s Energy”
Getúlio Vargation and Lexikos Foundan publishing house invite you for the launching of the 3rd edition of the book “Brazil’s Energy”
In this third reviewed and extended edition, the work “Brazil’s energy” has a new chapter named “Destructuring the power industry - Brazil 2007-2014”. The author outlines a detailed profile of transformations occurred in the Brazilian power sector in the last few years, and also makes comments on the guidelines of the current energy policy and its consequences.
Winner of the Jabuti Award in 1998, the book is authored by Professor Antonio Dias Leite, former minister for Mines and Energy (1963-79), and provides an analysis of the past and a critical assessment of the future of the Brazilian energy system in its different sectors.
Starting with a retrospective from the “age of wood”, going through the increased importance of oil and power in Brazil, Dias Leite seeks to establish and analyze the parallels or differences between the political decisions related to each power domain, always placing them within the country’s political and economic progress context.
Brazil’s energy is a mandatory reference for those who study the country’s energy development and a valuable reading for all those interested in the subject.
