On April 27, FGV Energia hosted the Nuclear Power Booklet launching debate to promote a reflection on an energy planning structure where the sources portfolio definition considers the potential for economic development and generation of income from thermal projects, without the need to giving up the control of emissions and environmental sustainability.

“Nuclear power is a clean source that does not emit air pollutants or greenhouse gases and is the fourth largest source of the electricity generation in the world, being used in over 30 countries. Thus, it has been considered by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the International Energy Agency (IEA) as one of the technologies to be considered in initiatives to reduce emissions,” declares FGV Energia researcher and one of the publication’s authors, Renata Hamilton de Ruiz.
