Cristiano is a chemical engineer graduated from UFRJ with an MBA from the Cranfield School of Management in the United Kingdom. He joined Shell as an intern in 1996 and built an 18-year international career, having held various positions in the Downstream, Integrated Gas, Mergers and Acquisitions, Trading, and Upstream lines, before returning to Brazil in 2018 to manage Shell's pre-salt assets, reaching the position of executive vice-president in 2021.
